What is a video wall?
A video wall (also known as a display wall) is a large visualization plane made up of multiple displays. Previously, they were formed by placing multiple televisions or monitors close together. Therefore, new techniques have been introduced to minimize the "inactive pixel gap" between different displays. Today's display wall solutions typically use video-walled LCD panels, rear-projection display units, or direct LED video walls.
These display walls are available in a variety of sizes, with screens typically ranging between 46” and 80” in diameter. The choice of screen size depends on the usual content and viewing distance. If looking from a close distance, the pixel density needs to be high enough that no single pixel is seen. Resolution depends on display wall size. For example, a 4K video wall requires 4 full HD screens in a 2 x 2 configuration.
Standard application areas include control rooms, conference rooms, digital signage and other demanding environments.
